|
|
I just bought a car trailer in Kennewick, WA so I now have all the ingredients to pull the car back to Illinois: F250 PowerStroke, trailer, and 2 weeks of vacation time! I never had a name for my car like a lot of you but I think it's time to change that. So here's the big question.... I will need plates for Illinois and I am torn between two choices.
My plan has always been to use QWKTRIP which is the entire reason behind my user name. But let's face it, the car has developed a theme of its own as being a languishing project that might actually rot before I finish it. And most of you know that mice infested my car at one time or another and laid a ton of poop and urine all over the carpet front to back. (Amazingly enough it doesn't appear they actually chewed anything.) Combine that with the fact it houses a Chevy big block and I think the plates should read RTNFSTD (rat infested).
So what do you think? Stick with the original plan (QWKTRIP) or go with a name that might better symbolize the project (RTNFSTD)? |

I do like the double meaning of RTNFSTD but since I've always known it as QWKTRIP I have to throw my vote that way.

Rat infested is hard to make out from that and most people won't know what it means anyway. _________________ '86 Trans Am - 5.0L TPI - LT1 cam - 700R4 - WS6

Cause they're bigger then mouse engines.
Actually I have never heard any verifiable reasoning of how those terms came into use, just a lot of theories. |

I believe small blocks were called 'mouse motors' first and then people started calling big blocks 'rats' 'cause they're bigger. |

Wow!! I have been wavering back and forth but you guys don't even hesitate! You land on QWKTRIP without a second thought! This is starting to look like an easy decision. Especially if you're having trouble figuring out the 'rat infested' plate.
I really appreciate your input. |

I had trouble figuring out the rat plate even after you mentioned the car had rats in it. I didnt connect the "rat motor" tell someone else said that. I'd heard the term many ages ago, and looked up what defined a rat motor. I think thats lingo for more older people then even me.
So Id stay with the other plate. |

A rat motor is a rat motor no matter if you are 16 or 60. It knows no age boundries. It's just lack of education on whomever taught you about Chevy's that's all Geez..........even my wife knows what a rat motor is since we have two of them.
The old saying goes........."There is no substitute for cubic inches!!!
