So what should I up grade on my 9 bolt in my 89 formula? And not a 10bolt those things weigh a ton. _________________ My bird eats ponies |

| a 10 bolt is not an upgrade from a 9 bolt. 9 bolts are stronger. |

You know that 10th bolt doesn't really add that much weight.
In fact I'd have a hard time beleiving a 10 bolt weighs more than a 9 bolt. |

it's not so much the extra bolt as it is a bunch of leftover chunks from all the axles and pinions that have broken inside of it in the past... |

rjmcgee are you high???? A 10 bolt weighs a lot more than a 9bolt. I should know I bought a car with a broken 9bolt, swapped it out for a 10 bolt cause that was all I could find. Rebuilt the 9 bolt and put it back in my firebird. There is a big differance in weight. Even more so if the 10 bolt has the cast iron calipers. _________________ My bird eats ponies |

I haven't touched your 9 bolt rear...even once!
the 10 Bolts have nothing on a 9" ford rear.....I've moved three of them from My garage to pickup truck bed...they're HEAVY........ _________________
