here is a simple schematic to built a flashing led that would work on 12v system if you want to make a fake car alarm. all the componets are available at you local radio shack.

you can subsitute the 68k ohm with a 47k ohm resister

make a note on the polaratity of the 10uf cap.
all ground connection are all common.
