Just started to tear her down tonight.

Haven't gotten the springs off yet but I hooked the leakdown/air up to the #1 cylinder and I've got air coming out of the intake (have the plenum off).

Is there an acceptable amount of leak around the valves? Yes the rockers are off.

When I was doing my springs I am pretty sure any air I could hear escaping was from the rings. Nothing through the valves.

What is your title suposed to say?

Not So Good.

This is definitely coming out the intake. Stealthram has those individual ports.

I remember when my guides were shot the first time it did the same thing mostly on exhaust though.

Usually even shot guides won't do that. With the rockers backed off there should be no air leaking past the valves. If there is, you've got a bad seal.. One thing, just to make sure its not carbon buildup. With the air pressure on, tap on the leaking valve a couple times with a rubber hammer. The air pressure should blow anything caught under the valve out, then it will seal. If it still doesnt.. valve job time.. How in the hell you've had this kind of luck with those heads. I could rebuild absolute trash castings and have them last longer.

Maybe I'll have you rebuild these this time if that's the case! LOL

the intake is pretty oily/dark but I figured that was just from PCV...

Ya.. long shot on the carbon thing. But just something to try before you go through any more work. I just can't imagine how these things could have been bad out of the box.. then you have em rebuilt and a short time later be bad again. Serious bad luck.
