Thinking about getting started this weekend on changing out my 2.73 rear to my 3.73 rear.

I'd like to transfer the drums onto the 3.73 for now and keep all the Disc brake equipnment for later when I can put an adjustable prop valve in.

Is there anything that would present a conflict in doing this?

Anyone wanna pitch in a hand?

i know from experiance that aside from the lines on the housing itself it is all the same. so if you swap EVERYTHING over it should be fine.

That seems like alot of work. I'd keep the discs.

I was debating keeping the discs on it. I'll probably keep all the drum hardware off the 2.73's just in case.

Might just be a better idea anyways, even if I don't have the prop valve...SOME pressure will get back to the rear brakes.

Anyways. I'll see if I can get the axle removed when I get home today, I'll have to stop and get a seal for the diff cover though.

Paul has a point. we can get a prop valve at napa and replace your rear hardline with one from that 83 (ar another pre85) so we can have american fittings, then the rest is adapters and hose from any autoparts store and we are good to go. no custom braided steel lines, no custom weld job, alot less $$ then i spent and POW rear discs. Smile

lets get it done.
