Is there any use in this type of gage? will it tell ya anything and help you tune your car???\
Up to 1600 deg.
humm, maybe two one for each bank??

on turbo cars guys use them as Exhaust Gas Temperature guages. i supose it would be good in diagnosing detonation issues on both turbo and NA cars. .  |

| The use it to tell the cumbustion temps, it can be usefull in tuning, but requires you to install a the EGT sensor also. It in combination with a wide-band can give you a lot of data. It like everything else, is just another tool. It will tell you a little bit about the condition of the cumbustion. I don't know that I would worry about it. Tune it with a wide-band, and you should be fine. |

| I have one in my truck, big truck that is, and it is a valuable guage. If I am on the low side of the power at 1400 - 1500 rpms and pulling up a hill I watch that guage. If it goes over 900* then I shift into a lower gear. Can cause some pretty bad damage if it gets much hotter than that. |
