I was talking cars with a guy from school when he shared a great story about his dad and a Camaro....
This guys dad (Mr. Shay) drove a worn out Ford station wagon to work every day. Most people didn't pay attention to him besides giving him plenty of space. But one day a kid in a Camaro pulled up next to him at a stoplight on the highway. The kid looked at him and revved up the Camaro engine. As soon as the light turned the kid took off as fast as he could go. Mr. Shay didn't think much of it until the same thing happened a few days later. And again a week later. And yet again a while later. Each time the kid would give him a look, rev the engine, and take off.
This same process went on for several months until Mr. Shay started getting really annoyed. It was like this kid was mocking him. But the thing is... Mr. Shay used to drag race and still had a modified 460 big block sitting in the garage. One day he had enough and dropped the 460 in the wagon over the weekend. He drove around just waiting for the day when this kid would find him again.
After a few weeks his time came. Mr. Shay was at a stoplight on the highway and the kid comes rolling up in the Camaro. The kid looks over at him and revs his engine. Mr. Shay drops it in neutral and just lets rip. The kid gets this suprised look on his face. Mr. Shay keeps blipping the throttle until the light is about to turn. As soon as the light turns they both take off. The draggin' wagon end up roasting the Camaro. The 460 went back on the engine stand that night. |

Oh yeah, I forgot. I haven't seen it in years, still one of the greatest movies ever! I'm not a huge 1st gen fan, but that '67 was just badass!!! _________________ '86 Trans Am - 5.0L TPI - LT1 cam - 700R4 - WS6
