Sorry didnt get pics.. but wondering if we're heading off to Korea right now or something. Was in the shower and all of a sudden there was a whole lot of chopper noise.. went on and on for several minutes.. I figured it was probably just a drug chopper searching the hills again, didnt think much of it. But I just stepped outside again and heard more choppers. Looked over the hill behind me and here comes a huge 4 prop military tanker plane flying very slow. Off and behind each wingtip are 2 huge choppers. The dual rotor kind. As they pulled over head I could see that each chopper was attached to the tanker with a refueling line. Once the aircraft were all past me you could see the huge search lights shining out the back of the plane. These things were flying very low and very slow. Pretty neat to see but now I'm wondering whats going on.

The duel rotor helicopter was more than likely an army Chinook. Even with in-flight refueling a Chinook helicopter does not have the range to reach Korea. You must live in a fairly remote area? That was probably a training exercise. BTW, the Chinook is a pre-Vietnam War era chopper that is used almost exclusively by special forces units today.

Choppers have flown over twice more now. They fly low enough to shake the trailer. Didnt think they'd fly clear to Korea. But did wonder if they were either preparing to, or flying out to a ship or something.

Choppers twice more now. Alot of activity. You'd think they'd stop after dark.

They're flying low enough I think a potshot with a deer rifle might wake somebody up. Actually.. flying that low around here, I wouldnt doubt somebody would do it.

We used to get a lot of that out here from McChord AFB, but they've pretty much shut it down. Seems about all the Air Force has to do anymore is train.

Last weekend I was out on American Lake and the dual rotors were doing flybys and then all of a sudden did about 6 passes dumping ~5 guys each pass and then parachuted INTO the lake. I wanted to drive over and see what was up but figured they were training.

Well they're out there flying around again tonight. Guess this must be their new training zone or something. Still wonder why they would do this here after dark.
