| What are my options? I want 28" tall and I want to put them on a couple 15x7 Z28 wheels. |

Do you want full on bias ply slicks or drag radials?
If you're looking for the radials....Mickey Thompson has the ET Radial 3752R...I'm about 95% certain they'll fit the 15" Z/28 star wheels.
Here's the link:http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/strip.php?item=ETStreetRadial
if you got an Americas Tire Company, you can prolly get em there, they can get you just about anything you want. Might cost you a little more $$. _________________

| Drag slicks, track slicks, autocross? Street legal or dedicated for track? |

hmm 15x7 you'll push the width limit. Thats why I went with te 16x8. No traction problems with the 28" as you all know. Some people are saying that drag radials are becoming more sticky.
Radials are better also I was being explained by racers, due to the fact that you run a higher pressure, so drag on the tires is lighter at high speeds.
I'm running the MTT-3793R ET STREET RADIAL 255/50-16
When you get into full slicks it another research battle. If you get slicks that require too low an air pressure, you have to run tubes and rivet the tires to the rim so they don't spin. Alot of full slicks are tubed. |

Paul, are those 26 or 28 inches tall. I have considered those since I have some 16" wheels.
I was thinking of something that will wrinkle since it should be easier on the drivetrain and I have some 15x7 wheels. I don't mind changing them at the track since I'm lucky to get there once every two years. |

On my z28, I am using the MT 26/10/15C slicks. They are a softer compound than the normal slicks. They hook up good. I'm happy with them. _________________ 85 Z28, 383 Stroker, TH350 tranny, Richmond 4.10 gears, dual exhaust

just because they wrinkle does not mean it will be easyer on the drivetrain, you will be more likely to break the weak factory stuff on true slicks then dr, also if you let the tires sit alot like only racing on them once or twice a year after. they start to get hard and they will not hook aswell. just some think about before you spend the cash if its really worth it.

Do you have slicks for your Firebird? Cause I could buy it for the slicks. |

10 thousand dollar slicks? Sounds like a good investment to me. |

If you don't know by now then it's clear to me that I must make more posts on the subject.
And who said I would go as low as $10K? |

... and then you'll be sorry you didn't buy my Firebird since it has a strong rear axle. |

Probably, but it will be a nice feeling to know that my little 350 is faster than your blown big block. |

Just try to keep it all in one piece now. Hope you have fun with the new axle/tire setup and let us know how it works out. |

Thanks, I'm actually more worried about the transmission then the rear at this point. I think she'll hold together though, just gotta have faith. |

Nope, just drove around a little and it seemed to get better. Maybe had to get the additive in the oil inside it or something. I did a full on 1st and 2nd gear burn out tonight and it spun both the whole time. Seems weak if I romp on it in a right hand corner as it just spins one. Got to get the Eaton pretty soon but I think this one will do fine next weekend. |
