(and if you do already know, i know nuthing about mechanical stuff...this mess started right when we tried to replace a thermostat...)

well after a month of waiting i got the last few parts for the trans am. go to put one of them and it was the wrong one, but got the right one w/o mujch problem. got that in and the rest of the stuff in ayok. then am ready to poor fluids in the trans so i could start the thing for the first time since like feb. well...trans fluid starts pooring out from where the tv cable goes. i cant really get any wrenches or sockets on it cause of the location of it. i did manage to get a socket on w/ some extentions and wobbles but cant really get any leverage (i think it tightend up a little but still leaking).

also, prior to this one of the torque arm bolts did not get put on before the trans went in and now its impossible to get it on (we did try to unbolt corssmember and tip trans down).

so what do i do? car is on jackstands in my garage. do i get it off the jackstands and have it towed to a transmission shop? im sure they will charge me up the @ss like the last shop did.

im not to happy right now, im acutally pissed off and soaked w/ trans fluid (for the 3rd time).

any ideas?

why not just pull the trans, tighten up what you need to, and get the TA bolts on, then slap it back in.

the torque arm bolts can be reached if you unbolt the tranny cross member and tip the tranny down? you may have to take off the distributor first to make sure you don't break it. and maybe the exhaust from the manifold. ?
