I read an article in the Northwest Automotive Journal. the july issue.
A shop was found liable for about $3 million of the $8.4 million law suit for a car accident between a 4 runner and a acura integra. the integra was rearended by the 4 runner on I-5. the integra after the acident was found to have a broken timeing belt the lawyers did and could not prove if the belt had broken before or after the accident. the integra was in a tigard shop a coupel of time for the same driveability problem. the timeing belt was installed by a differant shop reasently before the tigard shop had looked at it. the spacific driveability was not mentioned in the article. the jury in the trial had found the tigard shop liable as well as the driver of the 4 runner.
This scares me because it means that if i'm the last person to toucha a vehicle before it gets in an accident i might be liable even if i did not do the work that may have contributed to it. the tigard shop is appealing i hope they win.
