Well after about 3 years with no technology upgrades I took the plunge:
Dimension XPS 400, Intel Pentium D Processor 820 (2.8GHz) w/ Dual Core Technology
1GB DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz
19 in (19 in viewable) Ultrasharp 1907FPC Flat Panel Display
256MB NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS
Serial ATA RAID 0 With Dual 160GB Hard Drives
Dell 13 in 1 Media Card Reader
Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
Integrated 10/100/1000 Ethernet
56K PCI Data Fax Modem
Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0
48x CD-RW and 16X DVD+/-RW
Sonic Cineplayer
Roxio Creator Basic/MyDVD Basic
X-Fi PCI Sound Card
Plus much more
$1,300
I saved about 8%, if you want the code, PM me.
I use to build my own, thought I would try this route for once. Now I deed my AMD 1800xp to my son |

| That is a pretty good deal. We get the employee purchase program from Dell also. Ask people in your HR department to forward you the specials for the EPP from Dell. Every month they have a special, usualy you are looking at a 30%-50% discount on whatever their discount is. |

| We get a Dell discount here at Panasonic also, haven't really looked into what the percentage is since I'm pretty happy with the system I built up a few years ago. I know it's obsolete by now, but it does what I need it to. |

I found a code on the net
PS19689998
Go to:
http://www.dell.com/epp
Thats not my code and I'm not sure if all codes give you the same prices, the specials are good (like Dewey mentioned) and you can save up to 12% if you get the extended warranty on other systems.
EDIT: Looks like you can get the same prices without the code, just use the pulldown menu below where you would enter the code. |
