i have one. it is fun. but it is almost completly useless. the only reason i got it is because i traded a fellow crewbie another part for it. one nice thing is that women/non car people are almost completly unable to drive my car.
oh, one thing it does.... unlike the stock shifter there is no wqay to accidentaly do anything. the stock shifter allows effortless movement between nuetral and drive. not the megashifter. it requires FORCE. pluss it's shiney. |

Ok, so don't hate on me for this,
But the mustang I'm driving has that shifter in it and I go completely with what xopher said. EXCEPT I find it to be very very fun.
But anyone with estrogen might find it hard to drive.
No, I'm not sexist. _________________

I like mine but did some mods to mine. Used the old base plate from the old shifter that allowed me to use the existing GM cable. Also; didnt use the supplied supports (due to using the existing old base plate) and this allowed me to lower the shifter abour 1 1/8" and moved it 2" forward. I had to notch the ashtray pocket for clearance but the actual ashtray when put back in hides the shifter and doesnt interfere. The whole visual effect is a lower profile. _________________ 1988 Formula 350

| interesting. any pictures? i had to do mucho fabrication to get mine to fit as well. it sits about 1.5 inches lower. but i made my own baseplate. i would be verry interested to see how you made the stock cable work. |

I dont have pics on the instal(did it about 4 years ago) but if you use the old base and just move the shifter around you will get the position. Had to slightly grind in one area as I thought there might be some interference. _________________ 1988 Formula 350
