"It has the largest cam shaft possible for this engine before moving up to roller rocker"

WTF?

"It has an edelbrock intake on it that comes with an edelbrock carb, but I have a 350 Throttle body on right now to fit my car"

Huh?

"The engine was dynoed by the guy i bought this from in a C-10, and was said to have 450hp to the wheels."

BS!

What the hell? So if a cam swap on a 350 with a truck TBI makes 450rwhp (500ish crank) then a cam swap in my L98 should push out well over 500 to the wheels.

Rock on!

Sounds so convincing coming from someone who is obviously so clueless. It's certain he was scammed. We'll see if he has the talent to scam someone else. Rolling Eyes

i added a tourque converter lockup switch yesterday... gained 35 RWHP, plus my 5% multiplier from having a personalized plate makes it a grand total gain of 36.75 RWHP. Laughing i must be pushing 360HP by now.

paul has tint, thats why he bent his axle... tint gives you 50HP per window. Very Happy i gotta get tint.

According to the police red paint is worth at least 10 more hp and 5 ft/lbs of torque

Blue paint is only worth a ticket.

(its ok.. so is racing in a super rich 85 Z/28)

Lot of that could be chocked up to just ignorance and the previous owner spewing psycho-babble crap trying to convince the guy to buy.

I tell you it all originates from the dealers and they're idiotic salesmen. I'm not talking about all, but 90% don't know a caliper from an intake manifold.

I stoped by a saturn stealership and was asking about the solstice (possible bird replacement?) and the upcoming redline package. I asked if it was just an engine package or brakes/suspension/wheels as well and the guy just looks at me blankly, "Dude, these brakes are good enough to stop you from over a hundred. I've done it a couple times." Oooookay buddy. I'll definately be buying a car from you.

Incidentally I didn't realize the rear rotors on those things are tiny and solid, not vented. Anyone heard anything as far as how well they track?

No wonder he was confused: the Solstice is a Pontiac. The Sky is the Saturn version. Laughing Or did they have a used one?

And since I'm a Dealership employee, should I be offended? Very Happy j/k Every place has its foibles and share of people who are morons.

They didn't seem to bitch about it too much. Still, the question I would be asking is: do you really want to drive a car that was built to compete with the Mazda Miata?

Wait for the GXP version (or Redline Sky). It will have a turbocharged motor. Coming this fall.
