Hello! and welcome!
There are couple of early birds, but yeah not to many of them. I alway's liked the front end of those cars. |

The Firebirds available for '82 were, base, S/E or Special Edition, & Trans Am.
The S/E is not that well known, it came standard with the same level II suspension as the Trans Am, a V6 and had a sticker price just above a base V8 T/A.
It could get every option available on the T/A except the ceasefire fuel infected 305. My S/E had a sticker of just over $13K, a base S/E was around $9K+. The WS6 option for '82 included a full plate of goodies, Close ratio steering box, 4 wheel disc, stiffer springs/shocks, sway bars front & rear were 32mm & 21mm and a 3:23 posi rear rounded things off.
There was a shortage of disc rear ends in '82 and to find the WS6 option on anything except a recaro edition is very uncommon, most birds ordered with WS6 ended up with WS7, everything listed above except with drum brakes in the rear.
Here is a pic of my window sticker.

very nice.
i need to find my window sticker for my 87. its in the file somewhere. i want to say my car was a little over 16k (or maybe 18k) brand new. unfourtunatly im stuck w/ the xfire fuel injection set up. sometimes in the future id like to change it over to TPI which several members of the crew said they would help out. once i finish with one of the chargers id like to restore this car:
fully optioned out car. |
