Still need:
Clutch Kit
Clutch Line
Clutch Master Cyl Bolts
Clutch Reservoir
Shifter Stock
Shift Boot
Starter
Pivot Ball
Reverse Lockout Pigtail
Pilot Bearing
Throw Out Bearing
Tomorrow I'll pick up the clutch line/reservoir stuff. Put in the pedals, figure out what length pilot bearing I need, and cut the hole for the shifter.
Can't Wait!
Though I must say: I'm not looking forward to all those scatter shield bolts with the engine ON the car. |

Wurd. Pretty tedious.
You may want to test fit the starter. You can see that there is an outline for cutting it if needed. In my application we had to modify...
BTW, that is the vice

Did you change starters at all when you did this?
I know the thirdgen automatic and manual starters are different. The manual is positioned different to fit the t-5 bellhousing.
If that's not a manual starter you used I have a spare one that will work.
If it IS a manual starter you used, then the original hole is for a 168 tooth starter. |

I re-used the original starter.
I am now running a mini-starter.

Do you remember having to take anything apart in the engine bay to put the master clutch cylinder in? Seems rather tight and I had some trouble getting one out on a 2.8 so I could get the roll pin/line today.
And what kind of pivot stud did you use? Or did qwktrip already have one on there? |

And any tips for how you guys cut the hole for the master? Were the pedals installed?
And it looks like I figured out why my cruise wasn't working. The brake switch for it was broke and smushed up. The headlight dimmer switch had smashed it when put the column up one of these last times. Weird. It had broken my brake light switch too. The button wasn't out at all. I wonder if those worked lol.
Rodney, do you have the Part No. For that 3 wire stomp headlight switch? I'll just do what you did, and ditch that stupid rod stuff. |

I haven't switched to a stomper dimmer yet Paul. I'm gonna though someday if that helps. |

Bolted the pedals in place, drilled the two bolt holes for the lower bracket and then a hole saw for the actual MC. 1.25 or 1.5? |

Cool. I was hoping I could just use a hole saw. Those bolt brackets from the pedals look like they will line up the place to drill really easy.
I had noticed on the factory cars, the master hole was an elipse and not round so I wasn't sure if I had to try and do something like that. |

We removed the steering column to make room to work in there. Came in handy inside and out.
Pivot ball was from Lakewood (yes, Jon had it in there already).
I also used the master from the donor car as a template on the firewall and then drilled a starting hole and pretty sure we used a nibbler to actually cut it out. That was a handy little tool. Think Brandon brought that one along.

By remove the steering column, you mean you took it completely out of the car?
Ew. LOL
Nibbler sounds neat but I don't have one, or air. LOL
BTW GM wants $212 for the prebled setup now.
Got both cylinders locally for $130 and I'll bleed em myself. It's not a big deal.
I've already got the pedals in. just need to cut the hole. |

I'll assume that the second time the question is asked it is rhetorical. Only a few bolts and for us 'bigger boys' made the job a lot easier.

Just putting my 2 cents in to the question you asked. The hole that needs to be cut for the master is in close proximity to the steering column. If you have a better way to do it
Was your car an auto before you put the T56 in Ian?

I'm a small fry and I took a column out. Its not that hard, just a little tugging to seperate it from the connecting rod that goes to the steering box. _________________

That is true.
I don't think I'll have to pull mine, as long as I can get the master cyl in the hole. |

Yeah, stock peanut cammed non-g92 slushbox. I think it was harder for me getting the pedals in that actually getting the MC hole drilled and bolted up. But I didn't know the 4thgen pedal were different than 3rdgen ones.
Just seemed a rather large step...
I still need to mess with the column anyways my rag joint is pretty sloppy... |

Got master in. Was kind of a PITA. Pedals were easy.
I did pull the colum, 4 bolts, was a bit of help.
That and I guess the hole saw I had was for wood cause It got halfway through and there weren't any teeth left! LOL
But alas, the master is in, and plumbed.
Going to have to do some grinding on the lakewood/exhaust to get it to fit.
Mike: The original starter hole fits the 168 starter perfectly. Bet that's what it's for. Too bad I ordered a 153 tooth flywheel. LOL |
