Ok everyone, he is the tread to post your dyno results.
Here are mine.
I graphed my best run from the last 3 years on here.
Green = Stock
Red = Ultradyne cam, stock heads.
Blue = 416 Heads, same ultradyne cam.
Best Run this year: 224.31hp / 258.13 tq. This was with the view set at SAE correction. Uncorrected numbers were actualy higher.

With air cleaner on, something like 74hp and 118ft/lbs IIRC.
W/o air cleaner on something around 114hp and 170ft/lbs.
What program do you use to open that John?
Looks like those heads lost you a little low end and replaced it with top end eh? I guess your old swirl-port heads really did help with the low end lol. I'm interested to see some track numbers now. lol |

| I lost a max of 6ft/lbs. at like 2400 rpm. I picked up over 20hp on the tall end. A good trade off if you as me. I also picked up torque above 4k. I think it will be a bit faster at the track. |

224hp and 247 lb/fts
Now that I look at the graphs close John, I think you'd edge me out at the track. Little bit more torque and better gearing.
I need to get the exhaust on it and get a decent tune so I don't peg the fuel mix. No wonder it was always smelling rich after I beat the crap out of it.
How is the correction calculated?
I've got a few vids if anyone wants to host/see them. _________________

I'm still amazed at how flat that torque curve is.
What was the name of that program again? |

For those that dont have the program to view their dyno results, you can download it by clicking below:

Ian, I cant believe that was on stock exhaust, your car sounded completely stock! Time for a little more tuning though, a "wee" bit rich Then again, so was I haha. [/url] |

I personally dont have any clue if there's a single 3" to dual 3" out, I'm assuming you just want it for looks, not flow since dual 2.5" flow better than single 3"... You could try just fitting some tips on there ? I'm personally gunna slash cut my "tips" (end of pipes lol), spray 'em black with engine paint or something, and call it a day so they arent noticed, and if they are, they look stockish.

i'll get the pic up tomorow morning.
my "350". TPI stock...... RWHP 172.76 TQ 249.10
GM says 350 TPI stock.. RWHP 230.00 TQ 330.00
GM says 305 TPI stock.. RWHP 195.00 TQ 295.00
GM says 305 TBI stock.. RWHP 170.00 TQ 255.00
so my TPI "350" is putting out the same numbers as a stock TBI 305
i want my 58 HP back. what the hell? once we get a dry day i will be removong things to get to those casting numbers. this is one mystery that is not going to go unsolved _________________ 86' firebird (Junked in 2015). 88' GTA (sold in 2020).

Uncorrected for the Ram. Next year I will probably have a third gen there. Hell, maybe even by the time Cows comes around.

In short, being an automatic it wont hold drive at such a low starting RPM. And once it did shift into drive it would hit the fuel cut-off at about 108mph stopping the engine from revving any further. The truck also has other issues the dealer seems to keep making worse. I'm not sure if any of you noticed how Steve had to keep restarting the truck, or how it died on me twice trying to pull into the bay. I never thought it was possible to kill the motor with an auto trans. lol. We never had problems with it untill one day it stopped going into Reverse. The dealer "fixed" it, but now the engine sometimes dies when you come to a complete stop.

Whoa. How long ago did you get it? Have you tried another dealer and explaining to them the situation? Maybe they can fix it better? |

Well actualy, you are putting down almost the exact same numbers that all of the automatic 305 TPI's put down. The numbers GM rated are flywheel HP, not RWHP. |

I'd check out the numbers before getting too upset Tony. If it turns out to be a 350, then that just means it needs a little maintenance (probably something along the lines of a new cat or something else that most people forget are actually maintenance items). Or its possible you've got a fuel injector that's dying or something like that. Atleast you dynoed it, and now you can fix the problem before it becomes a bigger problem.

oh yeah... flywheel. i'm not like <--that mad. i'm more like <that kind of attitude. kind a "what gives? i want my HP back " kinda atitude. yeah. i'll check the casting numbers and if it is a 350 it will give me an excuse to get in there and replace some things. might have to get some new injectors or somthing. is there a way to clean those? |
