Frankly, I wouldn't mind keeping it around as a back up, or long-haul driver, but I already pay $175 a month for liability on the IROC, and having both on the policy would break the bank. I'm posting this just to see if anyone is interested in it.
Car is a 1991 Ford Thunderbird Coupe
165K (mostly highway)
3.8L V6 (n/a)
All stock
Power locks/windows/mirrors/drivers seat
White exterior, blue/black interior
Exterior is in good condition, factory paint has held up pretty well, but there are a few scuffs, and touched up spots. Never been wrecked, the only real damage is a small hole in the plastic rear bumper where the previous owner backed into a curb or something.
Interior is very clean, as far as I know no one has ever smoked in the car. No rips, holes, or large wear spots in the uphoulstry.
Engine is still solid, even after so many miles. Compression test comes back as 155+ psi in all cylinders, vacuum test as 20. I have always done all scheduled maitinence, as did the previous owner. Doesn't burn or leak any oil.
New/recently replaced parts:
Front brake calipers/shoes/ect.
Tires.... got a pair of barely-used Vogues for cheap, but I had to settle for Bridgestones up front. Tires are at better than 2/3 treadlife
Cap/rotor
Air filter
Left-bank O2 sensor
And now the bad:
The car is very light in back, and will get loose in heavy rain or snow. I have two 60lb sandbags in the trunk which really help to balance it out, they come with the car.
Front headlight plastic has yellowed, and the headlights are not very bright. I bought high-powered bulbs and adjusted the lights, which did help some.
The car has a new cap and rotor, but it needs new plugs and wires. I've been busy with the IROC, so I haven't gotten around to it yet. It's a pretty simple job, the only thing you need to remove to get access is the snorkle.
Back story: The car was bought new buy a couple who drove it back and forth to their second home in Arizona. At some point the Husband died, and the woman's kids bought her a new car. I bought the car from her in June of '04, and used it as a work car up until about a week ago. In that time I only put about 6K on the car.
The car would make a fine daily-driver, or cheap second car. It is located in Tacoma, WA (between Seattle and Olympia). I'm asking $1800, but I'm open to fair offers. PM me, and we can work it out.
Thanks -- Aaron
Edit: I don't have any pics ATM. If you want to see it before we meet, PM me and I'll have to bum a digital camera off of someone. |
