so, some of you may know i swaped the steering colum in my 86 w/ one from quasi tractions 84 maro. well, the new colum is not going so well. at first all seemed a-ok. the turn signals worked again, but the wipers worked even less. ok, no big thing. but now the brights won't turn off. looks like i am going to have to go to the junkyard and get one out of an 86 or newer. hopefully with delay. also, the battery in the 86 went out, and while it seems to not be related the timing is funny. perhaps some of the connections are not the same and i have somthing in the colum leeching power. i put the GTAs battery in there and got a new battery for the GTA. the old GTA battery had a good charge this morning when i made the swap, and seemed to be doing fine later tonight. lets see how it is on the way to the junkyard tomorow. hopefully i get home
so heres my question.. how hard is it to change an ignition cylindar? do i have to pull the colum apart? that thing scares me, so many little pieces . i do have a steering wheel puller. _________________ 86' firebird (Junked in 2015). 88' GTA (sold in 2020).

Oh s---t..... Now I totally feel bad dude. Do you want your old column and the money you paid back? I'll be willing to do some junkyard shopping with you this week and give you a hand getting a different column out. I feel like this is my fault so I should try to make this right. I can also help you with swapping an igniton cylinder if you want. _________________
