Budget motor, I have most the parts, what I still need are: cam, valves, springs, rocker arms, retainers and locks, head machine work. studs, pushrods, lifters

What I have already:

2 piece RMS 350 block, non roller

ported 416 casting heads (almost done, not much free time until I start the new job) These will be done in a very similar fashion to John's heads.

ZZ4 intake

CC Qjet, re-jetted and rebuilt
stock HEI dizzy
full exhaust, 1 5/8" SLP headers

minor ignition goodies, basically just MSD 8.5mm spiralcore wires, and new cap n rotor n plugs.

Shooting for 9.5:1 compression or so. Would like to run on Plus, premium if I have to

This is a very very budget minded motor (see: moving out & minor credit card debt that needs paid before then). But I dont plan to half ass anything, I realize that most the cost will be at the machine shop.

It'll be a streeted mostly daily driver. (Old dash will be back in by then, and I should have lug nuts Razz )

I was thinking something along the lines of Comp Cam's XE268h? Or Lunati's 268 cam.

I was also considering an LT4 cam, but wouldnt I have to have a lot of machine work done for a roller cam?

I would prefer something I wouldnt have to put a higher stall converter in, which is why I'm "topping out" with the 268 cams.

Would LT1/LT4 springs work with either of those cams? I hear they fit in the stock size spring pocket, which would save some money, plus I could get them used on eBay from the guys who are upgrading.

As for valves, I dont plan to skimp, I'll probably get manley "streetflow" valves, 1.5e, and 1.94i (if I can find the 1.5's atleast). Rocker arms I would re-use the stockers but I'd really rather go aftermarket of some sort, I'd like to use a stock sized valve cover though.

Will I have to upgrade my fuel pump too?

Any and all suggestions welcome! If you were there for the dyno, you know why I'm trying to get this other motor on it's feet sooner than later Wink lol.
