1988 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z

Bought a 88 GMC burb, 350, 4x4 throttle body, non overdrive tranni, 8,400 lb beast.

My 89 K5's tranni went out and I sold it a month ago.
More used car problems:
How do I check for a battery draw?
Probe negative side of battery and probe frame? I think that’s what I did last time on the kids car (what can I say I've got old-timers, I can't remember).
What’s values are acceptable,? Since the computer does draw some

What computer does it have?
What mask do I need? I want to hook it up to my tunerPro

Looks like $42 Mask 1227747 computer this correct ??

hope ya all can help.

Maybe I’ll take this thing to the dyno, 100 RWHP lol. Rolling Eyes
Thanks
Scott

Easiest way to check for draw is to disconnect one battery cable then hook a test light between the cable and battery. The light will glow or light if there's a draw. After they're connected touch the battery cable to the battery to charge all the capacitors in the elctronics.. Then pull it away leaving the light still connected. If you barely see the filament glow thats about 0.25 amp. Any more then that and the light will come on. Disconnect the hood light and pull the accessory fuse to disable the interior lights. If you still have a draw pull one fuse at a time till it goes out. Then you know what circuit is drawing the juice. If the light never goes out with any fuse try disconnecting the alternator.

Hopefully that will be a good ride for you when you get the bugs worked out Scott. I had an 89 GMC burb, 3/4 4x4... was an awesome rig for my family.
