Well, spent the day re-assembling the motor today.

Everything seemed to run ok. Tomorrow I get out and will do some tuning, and find out how she is doing.

Here of course are the pics.

Head off, surface clean, ready to get going.

New head on the "workbench", ready to go on.

Head on, pushrods in, rockers on, and lashed!

Of course, thanks to Bart... here is a pic of him working his magic on a ground strap.

Pretty much done, just a few things left!

All buttoned up, and ready for a test fire!

wOOt... Looks like a car again.

416's ported by sellman, then machined by Brandon.

Yeah, I'm excited and a bit nervous at the same time.

Good job John. If you want to borrow the wide-band for tuning just get it from Paully. Have you driven her yet?

no I haven't. I was so tired last night when I finished.

Besides, I forgot that I had given Bart the timing light back, so I have no idea where my timing is.

Did you change the cam in the process?

I'm excited for those dyno numbers too Wink Dont have any proven gain #'s out of any of my heads yet! And unfortunately doesnt look like I'll be bringing my Camaro to the gathering, and I dont really want to put the ported 22RE heads on my truck just yet since it's a daily driver.

I hope you dont lose much/any low end torque out of those heads, I was shooting for a mostly top-end gain (if you took a looksy at the exhaust bowls you'd see what I mean), but leave the low end and idle alone.

Hope you can get it tuned out, I always love to hear about the gains Wink

I haven't driven it yet, I'm getting to that this afternoon. Hopefully it does good. It seemed to idle fine, even while we were messing with the timing.

Cam is an UltraDyne 206/216 .447 .447 112

Well, I have a bit of an issue, hopefully I can get it worked out. I'm seeping coolant out between the pass side head and block. I'm going to go retorque the heads again.

well, I need to take a fresh look tonight. I have to get to work.

Being new head gaskets, I'm really hoping that it just needs to be retorqued.

(ohh this happens to me all the time. Trust me, its not just you.)

I did my fair share of swearing. The most frustrating part, was trying to hold up the Y pipe, and reattach the headers. couldn't lift the exaust, and get the bolt started at the same time. I swore loud enough, that my neighbors came over wondering what happened. lol

How bad is the seeping? Drip drip, dribble dribble, or "Hey guys look, I just got a new water gun!"?

I have tommorow off, if you do too I can attempt finding your house and helping yah out.

I don't have tomorrow off. BUT. I need to do some tuning tomorrow, if you want to follow me over, you can ride shotgun and do some tuning.

PM your phone number. If i don't get this running again tonight, I may have the day off afterall.

(BTW, just finished torqueing again, and resetting the valve lash. Gotta go toss the headers on, and see what happens.
