Sad Due to some unforseen financial obgligations, it's time to sell my labor of love. It's a 1988 GTA Hard top......no leaky, rattling T-tops to deal with. 5.7, TPI, Auto, Digital dash, 3" series 40 flowmaster. Pretty much stock. It has newer, more comfortable front seats. Many parts replaced. They include: MAF, O2(factory GM part), cts, PCM, Wires, cap, rotor and plugs, injectors, resealed intake, I replaced the valve guide seals on left side, never got around to doing the right side. Have the parts. I painted it last year, base coat/clear coat, color sanded and buffed. A/C was removed due to the fact that the condensor has a hole in it from a rock or other road debris, so I removed most of the system with the intention of replacing it with new stuff to do a correct R134A conversion. It has a 10 bolt, 2:73, drum brake POSI in it now, I haved sourced a 3:73, 10 bolt disc brake posi for it locally. It is a nice car that I'd say is 80 to 85% done. Has 129K on the clock. Runs awesome and last roadtrip I took last year, it got 22.7 mpg. I drove from downtown Spokane to Marrysville on 12.3 gallons of fuel at an average speed of 75-80 mph. It's been garaged during all of my ownership and has had less than 3k miles this year. I really hate to sell it, but with lack of space, lack of use and need of $$, it's time for it to go. I have most receipts for $ I've spent. Jess knows the car pretty good. I want $4000 for it. Here's some pics of it.

Good looking car! If I had the spare cash I'd definately pick it up. What's with the base model spoiler?

Thanks! When I painted it, the GTA spoiler was in thier usual cracking, peeling crummy condition. When I had it off, I thought it looked cleaner without it, but still needing something back there. I just thought it looked nicer. I also did not put the ugly ass rubber molding back on the sides either. This car was completely disassembled and all pieces painted seperately.

I know this is probably a dumb question............am I asking too much for it? I do have a sentimentel attachment to the car, not to mention the time and $$ I've put into it thus far.........Looking at the market, and I see ebay is not a good source, unless you have a Smokey and The Bandit TA, I seem to be in the ball park.

Well from the looks of the car and what you have done to it, it's probably priced about right. But............with gas prices at $2.35 per gallon today at the arco, people want rice grinders that get 35 mpg. If the economy were better and gas was back down to $1.50 it would sell in a heartbeat. Heck, I'm a chevy guy and I'd consider buying it. But that damn gas price is what gets me. I've got a 468 ci rat motored pickup I love to drive........but at 8 mpg I can't even take it out of the driveway.

I'm not trying to talk you down.........just pointing out the facts. Good luck with selling it. I wish I could buy it.

I had to sell my 75k original mile 350 tpi hardtop GTA burnt metallic red one owner for 3000 dollars.

3 months to sell and as a dealer, well, I tried my best.

Beautiful car. I understand the price.

Sorry guys, I do not have the original GTA wheels, Jess has them.......at least he did. He probably would make you a good deal on them if he still has them.

NEW PRICE............$3500

Crying or Very sad Well guys, The GTA is gone. It was bought by Tony, aka Xophertony. I know it's going to a good home. I'm certianly going to miss the car tremendously, but hey.....that's life. Maybe someday I'll get another "F" body.

Later guys!

well, bob is waiting on a tittle replacement from WA DMV. so once he gets that i can get the car. the DMV says it should be here "any day now" but you know the government, they don't have to worry about customer service.... what are you going to do, move away Laughing

yeah it's prety sweet. the only things it needs are a new rearend. (it has drums and 2.73s, it needs discs and 3.42s Very Happy) a new/repaired headliner and if i realy want to nitpick, new carpet (one spot under floormat is worn down, i won't be replacing the carpet) and a new oilpressure sensor (does not read until car warms up, thats not normal is it?) then it will be just about perfect.

i do however plan to get GTA wheels eventualy. i also want to change the shifter to the older stile ball (it has the "T" style now) and i will probably be converting the digital dash to a customised dash using autometer guages, based on the "rally" style cluster. perhaps somtime down the line i may change the doorpanels over to the older style. i am not a huge fan of the door pannels with built in arm rests. but i bet if i drive it around more they will probably realy grow on me.

Sounds like a nice new bird for ya! Better than the 2.8.

If you sell those door panels I want first dibs! What color are they? If they're grey, I've even got some replacements. Heck, I've got a brand new ABS headliner that's been sitting in my shed for awhile for a t-top car if you want it too!
