To be seen at SEMA in Vegas:

GM will showcase a race-inspired concept of the critically-acclaimed Pontiac Solstice, complete with removable hard top, at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas on Nov. 1-4. Dubbed the Weekend Club Racer, this concept built by GM Performance Division shows how a racing version of the car might be configured.

The pontiac dealer by my house has a regular solstice out front right now, I'm not sure how fond of it I am.

Any more details on the 'race' version? I really wish GM would base the race version off the Lotus Exige.

There is supposed to be a Turbo / Supercharged version available soon (depending on who you trust) next year.

I would assume that Club Racer would be the catalyst for that development, as of yet no specifics.

There will be one unique Solstice at SEMA though:

LS7 with Vortec supercharger (over 700 whp)
275x19" Front tires
345x19" Rear tires
6-speed transmission
upgrade brake package
adjustable suspension
Mallett Interior & Exterior upgrades

The owner is jacked up a bit about the entire ordeal:

Checklist:
Car (2006 Solstice 1st 1000) - check
Booth a SEMA (Vortech Paxton)- check
Expert car shop with a well-known reputation (Mallett Cars) - check

Having a 700+ whp 1st 1000 Solstice - PRICELESS

Like Don said, auto press is saying turbo 4 / 250hp, out in 2007.

Not sure if that is the 'race' version. Hadn't heard about that.

Looks like a bad p-chop to me.

I'd definately take the turdbo4 banger though. Probably in the sky however. Hrmm...I wonder if the sky frontend will bolt right onto the solstice body. I like the ass of the poncho but the frontend of the splattern...
