hello. i am Tony Gambino. live in Hillsboro Oregon. i drive a 1986 firebird v6
eventual plans buick turbo 3.8 swap. maybe next summer. hope to at least have the engine on the stand by then.
i am regestered as xophertony on TGO as well.
a few quick questions
1: does joining the messege board actualy make me a member of the club?
2: if not what does?
3: when is the next meet?
why i want to join:
i have never realy considered myself a car club guy, but i am the ONLY one of my friends thats into cars and it is getting kinda anoying. that and the "west coast" forum on TGO might as well say "southern and northern california!" under it. NO one from the big O in there.
here is a better picture of my car then the one in the sig

Welcome.
Are you pushing 40 years old yet? As most of our birdie owners are enjoying the second have of life around this place. |

LMAO!!!!
The hammer starts out with the old jokes.
Tony,
There is no requirements for being a member, all that we ask, is that you participate. Be it the message boards or going to meets.
I do not know what the next meet will be. I am hoping the guys from the Seattle area will put something together soon. If they do not, in January, we will be holding our 4th Annual Dyno Meet, in Portland. Details on that will start to come out very soon, and I typically have to get everything planned in later October, so that we make sure everyone has plenty of time to make arangements, and so that we can also get a date picked with McGee's Auto in Lake Oswego, where we hold the dyno.
I hope that answers a few questions. So for you now you can sit back, have some fun, learn a bit about cars, and meet some great people. Enjoy the stay! _________________

Welcome to the boards and the club
Incase Dewey didnt fully answer it for you already, the only stipulation to be in the Crew is to have a 3rd gen f-body, so.... welcome to Cascade Crew
We dont typically do many gatherings, but from the sounds of it (I've only attended the dyno from last year myself) the get togethers that we do have, tend to be rather large and entertaining
I live in Tigard, work in Sherwood x2, so if you're in the area, I work at the Sherwood Jiffy Lube. Name's Bobby |

Hey man, welcome to the crew. Despite what some disgruntleds may say on TGO we are alive and well. This is an informal club and if you like then you are already a member. Things are informal which presents a few issues... some people like a lot of structure - this would be the wrong place!
There are no officers, dues or regular meetings. The way it works is that if someone would like to have a get together or 'gathering' then they post up on the gathering board and people who want to show up. This works well for 'local' gatherings... dinner, drag racing, hang out and play video games, etc. etc. We do try to have 3-4 major gatherings a year where folks from all over the Pacific Northwest come together to have a good time and get to know each other. This is where the real fun happens. It is hard to develop relationships by just posting on the board in 2d. The annual dyno gathering (this year will be number 5) and the annual 'Party With the Cows' (this year will be number 5) are the longest standing gatherings but some members here who predate myself have been getting together for the last 8-9 years.
I personally have made many friends and learned a lot about working on my car with this crew.
Post up, keep a sense of humor and enjoy!
Cheers!
