Just thought I would check in and say hi. Am working up in Unity which is about 60 miles east of John Day for the last week. Have a 4 day weekend so I made the treck back last night after work. No computer or TV so I was kinda surprised by the amount of damage in the South. Anything new here? |

Hey Rod . Good to hear you are alive and well. Did the turbo truck make it up with you?
Nothing new here. School starts soon so we are getting all the little critters outfitted.
Yes. Katrina is awful. I find it hard to take in the vastness of the devastation with some of these natural disasters.
Enjoy the nice long weekend bud.

Back again!
Am done now with that job and work will move about 250 miles closer to home. Had a hell of a day Tuesday. Found out my pintle hitch I put on my trailer was faulty. I bought this trailer from a guy in La Grande sight unseen and had to install an old pintle hitch to tow my pickup home. Then later that morning I was on my third load of asphalt when my truck started making alot of noise in the valve train. Got it back to the motel and it wound up dropping a cylinder and only running on five holes. So I had to pull the valve covers and found that #6 intake had loosenned up and the pushrod had fallen over against the side of the head. Had to be #6 because it is partly under the cowl on this kind of truck. Had to remove all of the air filter ducting to get to it. Finally got it back together and running like a top. The rocker is most likely too tight so I got to go get educated on CAT engines today. Got hooked onto my camp trailer at about 3 pm and headed home. 25 miles from the motel run into a friend that had problems with his truck and needed a ride back to the motel to get his pickup. So turn around and go back. Get out of town a 4pm this time and finnallyget home around 11 pm. 10 hours of work topped off with 400 mile drive home. Get to go back Saturday and readjust the valves on the truck and get it home. I am ready for winter to start.
I will say that towing the Furd is a kick in the ass. The truck must be 25 ft long plus the trailer is 40 ft long and the Furd is prolly 25 ft long with the tow bar. Go through and intersection and I will have the truck into the lane I want and look into the mirror and the pickup is still on the other side of the intersection.
Cool news on the Audi John. That ought to rip when you get her done.
Maybe I can get back to PIR this fall for another shot at you Red and White cars. I have a plan, sticky tires and a car trailer. |

If there is money on it, we won't see the 6k power launch kaboom.
Acutlay for breakage i would imagine rodney has the best chance, being a T5, vs the th350. He can really get the revs up and gernade that thing. , without a trans-brake, I think your might be a little softer on launch. |

Yep. No 6k slam into gear. That will just blow out planets and stuff. However, we will see about 3500rpm and go :O)
Mikey, went with the M/T ET Street Radial. Did some research and talked to a M/T rep.... everyone says the radial will launch better than the bias ply slick. the M/T rep even said that most if not all drag tires will be radial within the next few years. The wear better, give better et, launch better, etc.
He said the big thing with full slicks is the drag at the top end of the racetrack. The radials with 15psi will have much less friction going on.
Was too hung over to go today hehe. I have next friday off, so I'm going to plan on going then. |
