Thanks guys.
I have a little more info. He was on his way to work and crossed the center line for some reason. Not sure if it was a brain fart, or a part/tire failure that did it. No way to tell. The other driver was critical, but she has been upgraded to serious condition.
We sent our son to the medical center to donate his skin, bones, and eyes. Nothing else could be saved. Apparently the engine went into the passenger compartment. |

Here is the report in the paper.
Some of you may remember Kevin when I had both my car and my pickup at the dyno day a couple years ago. He drove my pickup down for me that day so I could run both vehicles to make the cut off number for the discount.
Police, Fire Report: Vancouver man, 29, killed in head-on on Highway 503
Sunday, September 4, 2005
By JOHN BRANTONand JUSTIN CARINCI, Columbian staff writers
A 29-year-old Vancouver man died in a head-on crash Saturday morning after his car crossed the center line of state Highway 503.
According to a Washington State Patrol report, Kevin M. Luke was driving north near Brush Prairie when his 1990 Buick LeSabre strayed into oncoming traffic and struck a 1993 GMC Safari minivan.
Luke was pronounced dead at the scene, near milepost 5.
The minivan's driver, Kathleen M. Caseday, 47, of Battle Ground, was taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland with head trauma and internal injuries.
A Legacy spokeswoman said Caseday was in serious condition around 6 p.m. Saturday.
According to the report, both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Neither car had air bags.
The state patrol is investigating the cause of the accident, which closed the highway for around 21/2 hours. The report said alcohol did not seem to be a factor. |
