Today, John (RS Freak) and I pulled the smog pump and a bunch of emmisions crap from my 85 and installed the HO Air Cleaner (with both hoses still!) Eventually, we will omit all of the emmisions on the car, but in due time and put a new exhaust on it

Cool so is the exhaust next? What induction setup is on your 85?

I don't know how this ended up in the wanted section...lol...but now it has the HO 5liter air cleaner with dual hoses....as far as exhaust, probably go with some headers (not sure what brand) and true duals (most likely Flowmasters).

CheezX came up with a nifty looking tranny crossmember to help tuck up Long tube headers and duals.
Haven't heard if he made any more than his one though.
Congrats on the progress! Think it might keep up with the other maro yet? |

Just don't put a 400 in there with that crossmember. |

James' (Turbojimi) '85 is an LG4 (ie, carb). We put the dual snorkel aircleaner from my '84 L69 on his car Thursday. We had to remove a few emissions hoses to make the heater hoses sit lower to accomidate the second snorkel so we figured we'd remove the smog pump while we were at it. James took some pics which I expect he'll post on here soon. _________________ '86 Trans Am - 5.0L TPI - LT1 cam - 700R4 - WS6

Well, today we added a interior trim piece to John's (RSFreaks) 89 and degreased the engine bay on the 85Z. Both rides will have a little more prep work done before Saturday's Billy McHales Camaro Cruz-in. Hope to see some of you there.

The car show went well today...3 members from my group Camaro Cruzers won 3 out of the 4 trophies...Best 1st (68 Z28), Best 3rd(91 RS with a fresh paint job), and Best 4th(98 SS). John (RS Freak) were the only 2 other 3rd gens at the show....I'm sure we tied for second place if they had 2nd place awards Next show on the agenda is the Friendly Chevrolet Camaro Show in Puyallup, August 13, 9am-3pm. 5 bucks entry with a lunch included.

Car looked good man. You kind of caught me by suprise just pulling up next to me! I was on my way to work otherwise I would've headed over there as well.
And I don't have a welder, my dad does and so does my buddy down the street. |

Thanks.
Perhaps we can schedule a Camaro Garage at your house sometime this August (preferably on a Thursday) featuring the removal of the rest of the emmissions and hopefully the catalytic converter....just an idea.
btw....pm me your schedule and i will frequent your schucks when you are there.
