It's kind of nice to see a dirty driver build for a change. Been cleaning parts for the rotary and keep thinking.... I don't NEED to open the hood... _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

Hah, dirty driver fits this thing perfectly. You know me, I'm a function over form kind of guy. As long as it runs good and looks decent I couldn't care less about spotless parts. They'll just get dirty again with all the miles I'm gonna put on it! _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

I love your truck Gabe. The first vehicle I ever owned was an 84 4x4 with short bed. I left it at a friend's for a few months and he parted it out. Was there 10 years ago and I stull she'd a tear now and thwn. I would love to get another but they seem to have gone up in price. What color is that. I love it. |

Spoken like a man. Ask your wife what color it is and you'll get any answer but blue. |

God forbid if something is white. There's probably more colors of white then all the other colors combined. |

If by blue you mean purple.

Funny you should mention. I've been doing the paint on a job this week. She said she wanted "just a pure white". SW has a chip called 'Pure White'... except it's not, it's a light blue-gray color. We ended up with a nice slightly warm white to set off the trim. Came out good but it made me laugh a bit. |

Thanks to a roadtrip, I didn't get anything done on the truck for a while. I finally had some time tonight to go out to the garage and do some wiring so I could flash the PCM and start it for realz. Runs really great, no smoke or leaks in a few minutes of runtime. The 4L80 successfully moved the truck a couple feet in drive and reverse. Tach isn't working, so I might need a pullup resistor on it to get it going.

It is time to ditch the blue flame floor mats. For real. |

Oh no, they are an integral part of the late-90's charm. In fact, I'm doubling down on the 90's theme:

Well, that does seem to pull it all together. Well done.
Now you need one of those billet flaming steering wheels. |

Way ahead of you. Ordered this last week:
When Dad bought it in '04, it had the entire back window covered in toolbox stickers. Edelbrock, Jeg's, Purple Hornies, the whole gamut. NHRA is all that remains and it's getting a little haggard.
Previous owner went all-in on the blue if that tells you what kind of person they were. Blue interior lighting, those bitchin' floormats, Monster tach with blue shiftlight and so on. The engine was painted blue with chrome accents and blue longtubes. Blue plastic Chevy logos on the front and back. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

Cost of engine and trans has been about 10% of the total cost so far.
I'd say more than half the money has been on things not related to the drivetrain swap though. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

Once you cross that line you are now compelled to get a set of Rocket Booster wheels. |
