This guy has done work for my mom way back when, and he re-did the 454 in our pickup. I told him I was looking for a 383 to put into my 91 camaro RS, and his eyes lit up. |
I haven't read the rest of the thread but I felt like interjecting this right now. Do not expect to hurry Bud. He takes his sweet time. He's an awesome nice guy. He turned my first set of rotors into hubs but he took almost 2 months to do it. Luckily I wasn't on a time table. He's also dicked around a friend of mine that tried to do the same thing. Gave Bud a short block (albeit a ford 302) and Bud had the block and almost a grand for 8 months before my friend finally gave up and said he'd pay for the machine work he'd already done and wanted everything else back. Lost a good $500 on it. He's a real friendly guy but start early so you don't get held up by anything. |

hmm, I will keep that in mind! If he does take his time, thats ok, I will just be cleaning up all the rest of the stuff and installing headers, msd, the rest of the stuff that can transfer over to the 383.
A friend of mine had an interesting idea as far as exhaust goes... Instead of running pipe all the way down the car, I could just set up a cut off right were the pipes come together, that way the car is quiet and friendly through the stock exhaust, until I hit the switch, then its acting like it has straight pipes. |

| a few of the crewbies run those. most find that the powerplates (part that opens with the switch) rattle when closed, and it becomes relay unpleasant. |

uh, yeah I can second that from first hand experience. The first time I drove my car in the rain. Wow that was quite a ride. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S
