Didn't realize Summit sold Global West products. That is the one I went with way back when.

Ya, me too. I've had a Global West bar for 11 years on my garage shelf. |

I just want to point out, that nothing on the shelf in my garage even comes close to 11 years! I think 6 years is about as long as I have had parts sitting around for!
You may carry on...ohhh, get SFC's, and hope and pray you don't break anything with DR's... see, I can keep on-topic. |

I've heard from many racers about how horrible the Nitto NT555R's are. Most people compare the grip to a super soft street tire rather than a Drag Radial. From what I've heard they are a good DR if it's going on a daily driven street car because they have good treadwear and good street manners. However, if they're to be used as dedicated track tires then they would be the last set I'd consider _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

another question arose in my brain...so im gonna get the subframe connectors and wonder bar tonight, that way when i get my steering box welded i can get the subframe welded as well...so my car is not in tune and im gonna need tires
should i try to tune the car myself as is and get drag radials, or should i upgrade to a wideband o2 sensor and tune with that, and get drag radials later (still got 24 days till race season)
if i should go with a wideband, which one should i get and how would it get hooked up into the ecm?
how do these look? these would be cool cause they are already on rims _________________

If it was me, I'd tune with a wideband anyday over getting tires. You can still run with street tires, but a bad tune puts your car seriously at risk on the track. Also, I bet you're faster on street tires with a good tune than you are on 555Rs with a crappy tune.
Can't hook a wideband to a stock ECU in any meaningful way (aside from doing narrowband emulation), you'll have to just watch the wideband and tune to what it says.
Lots of people here run the AEM setup, it's easier because it doesn't need to be calibrated and it's more self-contained. I can't speak for this one too much, but someone else will no doubt.

I personally have an Innovate LC-1 setup, I like it a lot, however it does have the drawback of being more difficult to wire in and it requires a free-air calibration every time you buy a new sensor. I still like mine quite a bit.

Me like AEM. Good price, easy to use.
AEM sender doesn't like speedbumps though. Make a note of that. |

AEM experience > Innovate experience
Less expensive and easier to setup and work with. Can't speak to customer service for AEM because I have never had to use it. With regard to Innovate customer service, I had purchased several innovate products but based on the way I was treated when I had a problem, I will never buy another innovate product.

You can if you don't mind a little more in depth wiring and programming. |

Interesting, I was unaware of any methods for doing that aside from a code59 w/7730 conversion (which can use target AFR AFAIK). The best I would come up with off the top of my head would be to use the narrowband simulation output and offset the crossover point towards the lean side a little bit to get better gas mileage in closed loop cruise. Which still wouldn't help with AFR targeting during open loop.
I just decided to toss all that junk and run the good old MegaSquirt. It's so much more flexible in my opinion. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

Megasquirt is a home-built DIY ECU that controls fuel and spark. Completely replaces the GM ECU for all functions. It can run pretty much any engine in any vehicle, and is completely tunable and customizable. As you can imagine, it's a heck of a learning curve though. My engine harness and ECU was all built personally by me on my kitchen table with a soldering iron, and all the fuel and spark tables were built from scratch.
You'll love the SFCs and wonder bar. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

oh wow, thats crazy lol, idk if i wanna do that
so if i get the AEM wideband, i just hook that up and then datalog and watch the o2 gauge and base my tuning on the wideband until it reaches 14.7 or whatever it should be at _________________

Basically, yes.
Shoot for somewhere around 13:1 under full power, 14.7:1 during closed loop. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

12.8:1 WOT or richer.
He's new at tuning. Keep him in the safe zone. I never like to see 13's WOT. Get meaner engines and they don't like it.
Especially with something like an HSR which can be a full point difference between the front 2 cylinders and the rear 2. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

Being a dry intake how does that happen Paul? Just more air up front? By the time it reaches the back of the intake the pressure is down? I know the nitrous systems spraying in front of the tb look pretty dangerous for distribution, but that would be a wet system. |

So basically, drive boss home and get a free wideband o2 sensor....works for me _________________
