Its a bit to read but says it all.
"It's tricky to judge headlamp beam performance without a lot of knowledge, a lot of training and a lot of special equipment, because subjective perceptions are very misleading. Having a lot of strong light in the foreground, that is on the road close to the car and out to the sides, is very comforting and reliably produces a strong impression of "good headlights"."
There is alot more fantatic info, but it really helps to make a educated decision when you have facts and not hear say.
As for removing the deflectors, not to start an argument, but why on earth would you do that? Now you have no way to aim your headlights, and its isnt a proper concentrated beam. You basically have floodlights on the front of your car, you prob dont have much difference between high and low beam?
And like my quote from the link I gave, headlights are soooo subjective to whats "good" and what isnt. I didnt have a problem with my lights on my TA, till I got my avenger, which I thought had FANTASTIC lights, then I got the BMW. No comparison. Now the TA is like driving by moonlight, its actually scary. Thats why Im doing the conversion, because I had no idea what good lights could do until I had driven a vehicle with good lights. _________________ 1987 - Trans am GTA, hooker headers, Borla catback, Cat delete, CAI, 9.6 @ 75mph 1/8mile
