Is there supposed to be a jam nut on the master cylinder side of brake boosters?

The ones I've got have no jam nut, and spin freely. It seems like this could cause the master cylinder to not fully release and lock the brakes up if the rod unscrews even just a little.....

I don't remember any jam nuts. Just went out to the barn to check and all the boosters I have are still married to mastercylinders.

So the adjusting rod just free balls?

I dont remember any of them ever being easy to turn though. Fairly stiff.. that is whenever i've needed to adjust them. Sorry can't remember any better then that.

Nah. I knurled the threads and used loc-tite.
