So I took my Bird out on Friday after class for its daily beating on the back roads around Salem.. Noticed the rear gear is getting a bit crunchy and it looks like the brake master cylinder may be leaking under pressure... just wondering whats the best bet get a complete 4th gen rear end with disc brakes or just get some new gears and just convert my drums, and if a 4th gen master cylinder would be any diff than a 3rd gen one ? I'm gain a little ground on my engine so hopefully soon it will have alot better power soon so i want to start doing some upgrades... _________________

4th gen rear is wider. Can't run it with your stock wheels unless you like the outside the fender look. |

A 4th gen master cylinder will bolt right up to the booster. You may have to flare one of the two brake lines with a 4th gen fitting, I remember doing something like that, but I also did away with the combination valve and installed an adjustable prop valve on the rear line.
This one is from a 2002 Camaro

I knew they where a bit wider just didn't realize how much, my wheels would probably stick out even farther then wouldn't they... |

Yep, not the best look in the world. Mine didn't stick out as much as yours seems to however, Ian. It was pretty much exactly in line with the outer edge of the fenderwell.
