|
|
Can anyone here offer any opinions on any of the following 19" LCD Monitiors? Or any opinions on the quality of any of the manufactures listed. Thanks..
Viewsonic - VX924 - 4ms - 550:1 Contrast
NEC - MultiSync 1970GX - 8ms - 700:1 Contrast
LG - L1930BQ - 12ms - 400:1 Contrast
BenQ - FP937s - 12ms - 500:1 Contrast
Sony - SDMHS95PB - 12ms - 550:1 Contrast
KDS - K917s - 16ms - 450:1 Contrast
Viewsonic - VX910 - 16ms - 500:1 Contrast
P.S. Finding decent technical reviews on any of this stuff is not easy.
It will be used for graphic & video Editing
And deciding on which one to get is even harder. |

I've got this one:
http://pcworld.pricegrabber.com/search_techspecs.php/masterid=6353553
at newegg.com. I'm very happy with it!
I think there are only about 4 manufacturers of these monitors, so they should all be pretty close to the same quality.
Out of that list though, with no price given, I'd say that the NEC 1970GX will probably be the best. The shorter response time, and greater contrast ratio are the telling signs. _________________ Paully |

I would agree. Sole on the specs the NEC looks the best.
Hard to compete with Sony though, but spec for spec the NEC blows it away.
have you looked at any of these monitors in person? Sometimes one may spec better, but another will actualy look better when you sit down in front of it. You gotta find one that you can stand to sit in front of for a period of time. |

More info....
I'm looking for a cheapy monitor. I know a triniton is likely going ot command a bit of a price, but if you are willing to let go of it cheap, I might be interested... |

I've got a Mag 17" ... 500:1 and 9ns ...
personally I say if the monitor is DVI capable... give it heavy consideration over the others, because it does make a world of difference (if you have a video card that supports it anyway, which most now currently do)
the first viewsonic is likely to be the best, and the most expensive, whereas the KDS will probably be the worst, and least expensive
I'm purchasing a 42" wide screen LCD TV next month, as well as 3 19" LCD TV's (Living room, Bedroom, Bathroom, Study) in the near future.... quite tired of poor visuals, and anything I can mount on the wall is much nicer (I'd get a plasma but I play too many video games)
life is better with LCD
it just costs too much _________________

| Had a look at the Sony today. It was pretty impressive.. Really nice picture quality. Smooth video. The BenQ is out to lunch.. had good smooth video, but the 'black' quality was not that good. Tomorrow I'll take a look at the NEC. It may just come down to a direct comparison between the Sony and the NEC. and I'll decide from there. |
