Luke, you said you ran the engine before you pulled it out, did you check the trans?
The converter being constantly locked up might causes this too? |

If the convertor was locked it would instantly kill the motor when you put it in gear.. just like a clutch drop. I say there's something wrong with the motor. What I don't know. Mine acted similar once due to a bad pickup. It would run fine, rev fine, do everything fine in neutral. But I couldnt make it go in gear.. no power.. would just sit there. I would never have thought it was the pickup if I hadnt seen it coming apart. Changed it and all is well.
Not saying that's his problem. In fact I highly doubt it. But betting its an engine problem. |

Sorry... engine can run like crap and still move the car.
If it's actually shifting the lever properly... it's a transmission/converter problem. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

He says the engine won't rev up at all though. And I read it as that it doesnt sound like its pulling.
I mean if the engine rev's in gear without moving.. then ya.. trans.. If the engine pulls hard but doesnt move, then ya trans.. but if the engine won't rev when you have it in gear but doesnt move either.. then engine.
Oh, and mine didnt run like crap.. it just wouldnt move.. weirdest thing. Not something I would guess even today. |

No. Lack of VSS signal will cause high idle, and other problems, but the car will still be drivable.
Grab a vid of the car in gear. We should be able to tell from that if Paul or Brandon are right. |

Did you ever pull the trans off the engine? If so, did you refill the converter when they went back together? |

Okay I read it wrong. Opps! Sorry again! lol
Does sound like tune up of sorts. In gear it loads up and craps out. Check Fuel Pressure and ignition components. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

here is the video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsZlC9e2IoE
throttle is touchy at the begginning and then i revved itup a lil hehe, but when i put it in reverse and drive, the gas was on the floor, and my brakes are way too stiff, feels like i have no brakes so i really have to mash on em. and at the end of the video when it seems to be idling..its really floored... |

Brakes being way stiff is saying there's no vacuum. Engine is definatly not running right. I still don't know what to tell you though. Timing, maybe.. not enough fuel .. maybe. Are you getting a check engine light? Have any kind of scanner at all? If you squirt say some carb cleaner in the throttlebody while it's floored.. does the motor take off and have some power?(be ready in case it does try to take off! don't run something/someone over) Got lots of questions still. But I dont think you have a tranny problem. |

Luke, you should probably invest in a fuel pressure gauge at this point. You also might want to confirm that the shop adjusted the valves properly, since that was such a problem before. |
