SIR / PIR (or what ever it is called now) opens on Saturday the 17th with T and T and also TT Sunday the 18th.
Anyone going Saturday?
My small group of car guy buddies will be there along with myself. The confirmed list includes - my 87 IROC, my brothers 06 GTO, my bosses 69 Nova and possibly a 66 440 Charger and a 69 SS chevelle 396 with Edelbrock heads and 700R4.
Post up if your going and at what time.

Opening weekend is actually Saturday and Sunday, unless there's been a change that didn't make it onto the schedule:
http://www.pacificraceways.com/schedule/prsched_drag.cfm
That Sunday I'll be up at the Port Gamble meet. However I'll try to make it Saturday. Not sure what time. |

With the weather we've been having they could have opened the damn place up in February. The management up there is a joke.

I checked out the rules section of the PR site, looks like the NHRA is requiring a " roll bar" for convertibles and t-top cars running 11.00 - 13.49? Anyone know if this correct and or if PR enforces this rule? |

I've heard the old SIR took T-Top cars and treated them as Verts. You'll have to verify, and I don't have my rule book infront of me. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

that would make sense if your running faster than 13.50's
i know they make me wear a helmet cause i have t-tops but not 100% sure on the rules for faster times _________________

Bummertown does. Pacific does not. To the best of my knowledge. Could be wrong, it's happened before. |

That is partially correct, it should be for verts only. If your convertible car is pure stock, then it can be 11.50 like any hard top car. However most tracks will only enforce that rule for competition. According to NHRA, T-top and targa top cars are considered hardtops if the top(s) are in place and are considered a convertible when they are removed. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

Looks like the weather isnt going to coorperate Saturday. I'm going to call a weather service that my company pays for at 7:00am and see what the forecast is. If it is going to rain we will cancel. Might go Sunday if Saturday washes out. |

My brother and I went to the track today ( Sunday).
PR really needs to get there stuff together, the sportsman class got two runs from 11:00 Am - 5:00PM. The track officials kept sliding other classes and individual racers in before they would let Sportsman run. At one point we had been in the staging lanes for almost an hour and watched the same Honda Civic make 3 passses. The 1st and 3rd time he broke a half shaft. Several other racers made 2 - 5 passes while we were in the staging lanes awaiting our last (2nd) pass.
Another gripe is the frontwheel drive cars running slicks. I cant believe how many broke and oiled down the launch pad. I would say that atleast a 3rd of the fast FWD cars oiled down the track. |

Saw that name on the back window of a red civic, it didnt brake though. There was a white honda that broke twice while we were waiting our turn in the staging lanes. He actually made 3 passes between the 1st and 2nd sporstman class's turn. |

So what did you run Dave? Can get a good hp estimate based on your MPH.

Well, my best pass was the 2nd. With the CEL glowing it ran a 13.50 at 104 and change. The first pass it ran a 13.8 at 98. The car runs really rich when first started so I bumped the fuel pressure down to 42PSI before leavig for the track. I planned to adjust the pressure at the track but I left the gauge on the bench in the garage. I geustimated where 50 PSI was on the regulator and ran it again. It picked up 6 mph and .35 with this change only. I think it's got a full second and 8 mph left in it with a good tune and larger injectors. |
