word is, that is not the actualy GTO that the states is getting, the is the HSV GTO, the gto here **should** be ever faster than that version there so that means even more tire smoke. |

I've never seen Top Gear on the speed channel yet... Seems all thats ever on is one form of racing or another. Never seem to catch the cool shows anymore, or the stuff like the off shore drag boats....
Hopefully the GTO does well enough that the general will keep it going and make a brute out of it once again....
I have an HPP with a GTO article in it, should I bring that with me for dyno weekend? |

But of course.
we always need more more info, and more more bench racing material. |

350 doesn't suprise me, my guess is that it is cammed more aggresivily than the LS1 in the F-Cars was. if it was me, i would be putting the LQ4 heads on it, and one of those new LS1 Hot Cams, the GMPP has out now. i would guess that combo is a good 450HP, and wouldn't break the bank.
too bad i don't have money for a LS1 based car |

actualy, as i am learning more and more about how quattro works, and responds to diffrent inputs, you would suprised what quattro will do
next time it is snowing, and no one is around. turn your ESP off (if you have it) go around a corner fairly quickly, start to power it and get the back end to just start to move. at the apex, let off the throttle. then hang on the lift-oversteer effect from quattro can be fun of course i found out about this part of quattro quite by accedent |

Man... everytime I see that car all I can think is "Eat your heart out 05 mustangs".
Just when GM began to really die out in my book, they may just redeem themselves.
I am still dissapointed in their lack of manual transmission options on newer cars. _________________

Maybe, but don't get your hopes up too high, I recal reading somewhere the GTO isn't planned for much more than 3 years (I hope I'm mixing this up with something else though)
I hear ya on the manual transmission deal. Too bad most GM's are auto only and FWD. I think a RWD 6-speed GP would kick some ass... |

Actually Jess' the info i've been reading is that this version of the gto will go 3 years. Then theres an all new version coming. The new version is looking very sweet compared to this one. Omega chassis I think, wider, stiffer, and lower. And they'll be designing it as a GTO. So it may actually have more visual gto clues to it. It's chevy brother was supposed to be called Chevelle. But rumor has it that there was so much uproar from the old gto fans that they wont use another old muscle car moniker. But may call it Camaro. That parts debateable anyway. |
