Hopefully Skyler or someone can help me on this...

So next season I plan on running 12.99's or quicker. I'll be running slicks, no nitrous, and on a different than stock engine...

Do I need anything special besides a helmet? Do I need a firejacket because of the different engine? Should I pass tech with slicks?

Just need to make a list of stuff I need for next season...

Fire jacket in the 11's. Just a helmet in the 12's. In addition to all the basic stuff.... battery hold down etc.

Your fine to 11.50 or 135mph with just a helmet (Snell M2000, M2005, K2005, SA2000, SA2005, SFI 31.1A, 31.2A, 41.1A, 41.2A, 31.1/2005, 41.1/2005, 24.1, or 24.1/2005) and the basic stuff: overflow bottles (stock or 1 pint capacity,) seatbelts, battery hold down, <12" rubber fuel line, no plastic or glass fuel filters, no openings in the firewall, etc. Don't forget to run open ended lug nuts when running your slicks. The concern is that the lug nut engage the threads of the stud for a distance at least equal to the diameter of the stud.

Make sure they don't rub on the fender under acceleration. It's very common to see front wheel drive cars with wide slicks up front that end up rubbing. It's kind of sickening how much the suspension components distort in a front wheel drive car that has serious traction.
