Seriously? both my TA and Formy were able to hit 130+ with 3.27s and 3.23s respectively. (when they had 700r4s) _________________

I pegged the speedo in my old '85 several times. It had the 140mph speedo. 305 TPI 700R4 had 3.23 AND 3.73. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

In third or in fourth, Ian? 700R4 will do 130 easily in fourth. Hell, I did 135 with 3.73's. |

I thought all F-body 700r4's had a device that prevented the tranny from shifting into 4th at WOT? I've hit 120mph but I had to be at 75% throttle in order to stay in 4th and that's no fun. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

Correct, let off, let it shift, then ease onto it. You can get pretty close to WOT.
Then when I had the trans rebuilt, they ditched that part _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

Yeah i had gear for days! I was only spinning at about 3200 RPM's!
She had a little more in her but being fully weighed down, and in the middle of NO WHERE! i didn't want to push things too much. lol couldn't imagine what being stuck in the middle of Wyoming would be like...
So AustinTGO threw me a welcome BBQ last night and it was really fun! I've found a really cool group of guys. Don't think they know how to party as hard as the crew, but maybe i can teach them the meaning of the word "copious"
Some really nice cars down here too, one member has a full LS1-T56 car, and another has his own shop with lathe, CNC mill, and a LIFT! can't wait to play at his house
As for the beer, its not too bad down here. I've found blue/honey/harvest moon, the complete New Belgium line, the Sam Adams line, and a few others. So at least its not all Buttwiper.
Cheers

Blue/Honey/Harvest moon? you fail...
Sam Adams? fail...
New Belgium, yes please.
Rahr and Sons out of AUstin are good
Real Ale out of Blanco is most excellent, you'll have to hit the Alamo Draft House (alamodrafthouse.com) or The Flying Saucer (beerknurd.com) to find some of their good stuff.
Of course, there is Shiner, but i hate shiner, so f**k that beer and all of their products in general.
St. Arnolds is based out of Houston, good stuff for the most part, but a little too carbonated for my liking (one reason why I hate Shiner)
Live Oak is around somewheres, but not too common as of yet.
the bigger Specs in Austin, has a decent selection these days, far better than a few years ago. (specsonline.com) It's the main liquor store in Texas.
Hope you enjoy this place, I'm leaving it on the 5th |

Looks like I might miss the homecoming, depending on how long you take to get here. I'm off to Japan for a week starting this Saturday.
Good luck with the new group, Jake. I've been into one or two arguments wit Stephen over at TGO. I tried to set him straight on the fog light/driving light difference, and he wouldn't have any of it. "I have fog lights!!!!" because that's what GM calls them. _________________ 92 Camaro

LMAO at Stephen... So i found out at my BBQ that he is not exactly a "preferred" member of this group. lol He aparently doesn't do anything all day but sit around on web forums and get other people to do things for him on his car... Firechicken sp from TGO and a few other cool guys from TGO are the "core" of the group and are really cool guys.
will do Tony

I'll be moving to Texas some time in the future as well for school (SAM.) There seems to be a lot of Houston guys from both TGO and LS1tech. I would love to see Neil's car in person. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

SAM is an amazing school, almost every head porting job you hear about from GMMG, or many LSx specialists, are people who went to SAM.
I almost went there myself, when I first moved to Houston. |
