				| Where is the string breaking? If its breaking at the nut, check for a burr or knick in the nut. Are you tuned to A 440 standard tuning? Over tensioning of the E will cause it to break easily. _________________

				| standard tuning. and it's breaking at the saddle. I think I figured out why, the saddle is worn and seems to have a "channel" worn in where the string lays. or maybe I just dont' have the saddle adjusted right, I just adjusted it so that the string doesn't catch on the block, because I figured that would cause it to break. _________________

				| You might also try going to a diffrent guage string. I can't play on 9 guage, because I always break that string..... 11's for me
 BTW, here is my setup.

yeah I was thinking of that too, I don't remember what guage the high e's I have are, but they are ernie ball strings. i'll just have to look at the package when i'm at home. but the strings did seem a little bit thin when I put them on when i got the guitar. but it's been so long since I've had a guitar I thought that I must have been imagining it. maybe now thinking about it. maybe I wasn't imagining it? I almost never broke strings on my old guitar. I think I broke two in like 3 years.

 Sweet setup!

I only have a anniversary addition squire strat that's metallic red with pearlized pick guard. it's real nice, but I only have a little amp and no pedals. but I'm just learning to play electric so, it's ok for now.

				| I used to break the low and high E stings ALL the time when I had earnie ball stings, and I tried lighter and powerslinky and still broke them. Switch to D'addario and havn't broken one since, and it's been 2 years since I switched. | |

				| I looked at the package and it's a 10 guage string.
hmmm.... well I'll try a 11 guage first if that doesn't work then i'll probably switch brands.

				| I would switch to D'addario anyway. They are my string of choice also. Great strings, and they seem to hold their tune much better than others. | |

  D'addario!!

(I'll reserve my comment to change the pickups to Dimarzio too, I guess!)

				| What you can't see in my pictures, is that both pick-ups in the Ibanez are DiMarzio. I was pretty happy with the Semore-Dunkin "Screamin' Demon" that I had before the DM's, but it was alot more pick-up than I needed, and more than a little 'Harmonic Happy' | |

I didn't think Ibanez put anything BUT DiMarzio pickups in, unless you specifically ask otherwise, or put it in yourself! I've got a custom build solid body that has a pair of Strat single coils with a Carvin M-22 at the neck instead of the bridge, sounds sweet!!! (Just wish I played better!!!)

				| Mine are not your average stocker DM's
The guitar is a Custom Shop 520 with the QS wood option. Its got a tone-zone (375mV output
) and an air norton pickup. I had the screamin' demon on there, but that would find harmonics I didn't even know excisted. | |
