Just like brakes. Someone needs to work the clutch for you, then there is a bleeder screw on the slave cyl. It can be a PITA to get to the bleeder screw, but it is there. Just make sure the you keep the reservoir full.

Basically. Sometimes they can be a bitch to bleed and you'll have to unhook it and bleed the slave manually yourself. But the process is basically the same..
Pedal down,
Crack bleeder.
Close bleeder,
Pedal up.
Repeat. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

Ok, I need to clear something up. Are you the second owner of this car? The one who lived in Estacada and who traded an early 90's Celica for it? _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

Ok, well I know that the previous two owners always had clutch problems. Not sure exactly what it was though. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

Could have started an Auto and someone swapped in the manual with hydraulics.
Should be able to push the clutch 1/4 of the way down then have it engage/disengage. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

Yes, but that wouldn't have any effect on your type of linkage.
IIRC earlier 83's got the mechanical linkage, and some of the last runs of the 83 model, they started throwing in the hydraulic stuff.
As indicated someone could have changed it over from an Auto, and since the Hydraulic linkage is more common, its probably what got used.
If you ever have your center console out and the lower shift boot off, it should be a dead give-away wheither or not it started out as a stick shift car. _________________
