It took a little over 3 hours to pull it out of the truck. We'll see how long it takes to get in. 1976 454 short deck BBC, oval port heads, 4bbl Holley 650 DP on dual plane (for now), TH400 short shaft tranny.

Ya, that was kind of a silly question Dew. Its going in my blue/gray camaro. Big brakes, pitiful dyno results, drifter.... you didn't see it coming? Very Happy And I'm painting the car. It will be reborn to the Black Team! Twisted Evil

I know huh? It keeps looking at me from across the garage. I can almost hear it running (well, I actually drove it around before I pulled it so I can still remember what it sounds like on long tubes, duals, and glasspacks). The hardest part will be getting the headers to fit. I'm not going to buy special BBC swap headers so I'm going to cut up what I have.

Do they make motor mounts for this swap now, or is that still DIY?

Make sure you provide plenty o pics!

I just noticed, is that a trailer ball hitch on the front? WTF?!

Motor mounts? Lol, they are the same as a SBC! The distance from the bell housing and the motor mount is the same for the SBC and BBC. But since the BBC has a longer bore spacing it poke forward more than the SBC. Less room for the fan but its not terrible. The only thing they don't really make are swap headers.

Ya, that forward ball hitch is for people who can't park a trailer. I have genetically superior trailer skills from a long family history of tractors, trucks, and mechanics so I've never thought to use it. Very Happy Wink Rolling Eyes

I thought they would be shorter for a wider block due to the bigger bore.

Also possibly "offest" needed depending on the application.

Shows how much I know about a BBC

The trailer ball is on the front for backing the boat in the water not for trailers. Is your BB a 2 or 4 bolt? I have a few parts laying around from my 468 build in my nova. I went with the SB in the camaros. I have a few hook-ups on parts from my racing buddys.

I support this bet, and if made far enough in advance I will provide the float for the losing princess to parade in. ala Chris' triumphant cruise.
