Alright, so since I put these larger runners on my TPI, it has actually ran worse I figure it was because the gaskets are to small and the base is not ported to match.
Found a porting kit. Past few days I have been working on this. While bolted together, I am taking a bent welding rod (arc welder) and running it down the ports feeling where it catches. Then taking apart and grinding... repeat process.
I guess I am doing this right? Then I'm going to go back over it with 120grit. Bolt it down.
I ordered AS&M/TPIS largetube gaskets. To say the least I am not overly impressed with these... but they appear to clear everything. Since they are just paper gaskets with no metal core, do I need to use silicone on these? I've had a serious problem with all my runners having vac leaks.

| What are you taking apart? Should you just match the ports in the plenum to those on the runners and call it good? Maybe flare the plenum to runner interface so its smooth for air? |

The plenium I am using came with the runners, so its already matched.
The base is what I'm trying to match. It was all stock and had alot of casting burs also. The runners are .12 larger then the stocks. |

| Oh gotcha. Sounds like you have the right idea for matching them up. Pretty hard to see up there! When I did mine I put the gasket on and matched to that. Your way would work better though. |

I'll take a pic of the gaskets, and the new ones on the base. You will see why I'm not happy about the gaskets.
I need to find a computer controlled gasket cutter and make my own. |

Starting. This is the cleanest port with the least casting flaws.

Gaskets. On the doubles. The darker one is supposibly SLP's, then a stock felpro, then the ASM's. The supposid SLP's are the same size as stocks.

You sure it's the runners with the vacuum leak? How are you checking?
You got the bolts that mount from the opposite side on the bottom right?
Never seen these leak, stock or not. You might take a long board and plane the surface to make sure its straight.
Maybe vacuum leak somewhere else? Like on the plenum fittings, or the intake to the heads itself? |

I'm not 100% it is the runners. But any time I take the runners loose, and put them back together..whamo, leak. I spend 6 times or so trying again to make them leak then one time it stops.
Yes I do have the "backwards" gripping bolts.
Thinking of replacing all hoseclaps on all the vac lines this time. |

| How funny. I'm going through that in my tahoe right now. I put it back in out of wack and the SES light has been on for a while now. Sucks let me tell ya! Especially since noone has software for datalogging thats under $500. Seems like you just have to match the crank sensor to the cam sensor in the cap. My truck is getting 6-10mpg right now because of this problem! |

You can do a sensor relearn with my program. But It appears the process is a pita. Id rather try my luck at restabbing it a few times.
Call your stealership, they should beable to do the relearn, or have them re-stab it for ya. |

Ok, 6 trys at the dizzy and its finally in and after 3starts no error code.
Also was fighting a vac leak on the runners. Ive GOT to find a larger setup for these allen bolts. A 1/4 ratchet will not get them tight enough. |
