http://www.google.com/chrome
Been messing around with it for a bit. It's very fast, well done, and simple (although perhaps overly so).
It's obviously still in beta, and has a few glitches (as I type this the text is occasionally garbled). It lacks any sort of suggestion-based spellchecker (it merely tells you what you ganked up, not how to fix it). It also lacks any option to import from Opera, and adding user searches is a pain (in Opera you merely right-click on any text search box and it will automatically create a user search).
A good effort though, and probably will eventually be good enough to run as my default browser. |

Hey!
I was totally gonna come in here and make this thread myself Luckily you already did all the hard work.
Pros:
Chrome is fast, even on my current saturated T-1 connection here at work
Tabs are explicitly and easily draggable everywhere and anywhere.
Address bar "Omnibar" is great, much like the Awesome Bar in Firefox.
Multi-processed design is way cool.
Has an awesome comic! http://www.google.com/googlebooks/chrome/
Spellcheck and suggestion is working for me, try right-clicking on the misspelled word Aaron.
Search on any website is easy (Sorry Aaron, I'll explain below)
Cons:
Text is occasionally garbled in input boxes, but I'm an accurate typist, so no worries there really.
It's in beta still.
Can't do the cool shortcuts for URL's, ex.
Ctrl+Shift+Enter autofills http://www.<website>.org
Shift+Enter autofills http://www.<website>.net
Ctrl+Enter for .com autocompletion is still there though.
On to the advanced stuff.
To add a search for any website with a search bar, simply search for something on that website once. Then Chrome knows what to do to search the site. From now on, you can search that website from the address bar.
Example:
Search for something on Amazon.
Open a new tab and type "a" or the first part of Amazon, then press tab to autocomplete. You'll see it say "Search Amazon:". Then just type whatever you want to search for now that Chrome knows about the website.
As far as the spellcheck goes, it isn't very smart right now, but I'm sure that it will get better. It only autosuggests a few words, but it is present. Just needs a bigger dictionary I believe.
Anyway, I love Chrome. I will be using it extensively from now on, and I hope some of you do too. It addresses many of my major complaints with web browsers, especially the whole tab should be independent of the window it's in thing.
Chrome Rocks! |

I wish it ran on *NIX too!
That does make me sad Dewey, but the computers I run most have to run Windows because of my work. My laptop and work desktop both need WinXP. My linux computers at home though, will have to stay with Firefox3 for now.
I have high hopes for Chrome to be linux compatible very soon. Google has historically been very good at supporting *NIX based OS's with their major apps eventually.
It is paramount for them to release a product as soon as possible, and since 95% of user workstations run Windows...
There's always Wine Though that would be kind of dumb when there's such an awesome browser (Firefox) for *NIX already.
Chrome Rocks! Still! |

While, I just downloaded it. A couple of things I do not like though. My mouse wheel doesn't work work right, the click-down drag scrolling with the wheel doesn't work. It also seems to do some funny things here and there with the display of text in the type boxes.
I do really like the most common web page thing on the screen though. That is pretty cool. I also wish there was a way to quickly switch between favorites in the same screen, instead of tabs. |

I haven't been able to import IE favs. Firefox, no prob., but IE?
I'd love to find the Chrome favs file location so I could manually add my IE favs, but I couldn't figure out what directory Chrome keeps them in. _________________ "Are you guys ready? Let's roll."
