Has anyone bent or cut headers to make them fit your application? I have a set of headers that I need to chop up and wanted to see if anyone has had good luck doing it. I think I'll have to make a new collector. Any thoughts? _________________ E30

| I've heard of some MINOR mods on long tubes. Never had any issues with my Hedman's, John's Hookers, or Edelbrock all shorties. |

Had clearance issues with my hedmans but that was because I was unaware that the Energy Suspension motor mount make the engine sit an extra bit up in the engine bay causing the clearance issue. Just a little FYI for those looking into header fitment and Poly mounts. _________________

| I have a set of long tubes I hope to stuff under there. Lots of cars I've seen have punched in floor pans or modified firewalls. I'm not a huge fan and I'm going to try to not do that. Depending on where it sits I should be able to cut slits to push it closer to the block. I just hope that the tube is thick enough that I can reweld no problem. |

| Has anyone had to pick a motor off the mounts to get the headers in? I'm having troubles with my long tubes. The collector for the 3" dump isn't fitting between the frame and the engine. Might fit if I pick the engine up a smidge, anyone had to do this for their 350 longtube? My LT1 with shorties had no real fitment problems. |

On my left side, I had to jack the motor up to get the header on. _________________ 2008 GMC Z71

| Thanks man. I haven't had time to try it out. I think after this weekend I'm going to go full bore on the headers and tranny crossmember. Passenger side headers are going to be a pain. |

Speaking of left header, I'm changing it out this weekend
Then in a few weeks, changing right side out as well. |

Money is thin now yes because of the transmission. Trying to buy the "upgrades" for it.
The old ones dont have smog pipes on them. Since I want to move and got ahold of these for money owed. I should install them "just in case". Plus I'm going to plumb my egr up to them for now. |
