and wow what a difference it didnt make....i either had 3.23 or 3.42(not sure which) in, then swapped out for 3.73's. from what i gathered from tgo, this would make for better acceleration. i barely feel any difference. almost to the point to where i think that the shop i went to messed up.... _________________ gas brake dip dip |

| 3.42 to 3.73 isn't a considerable difference at all. If you're concerned I'd verify and count some teeth to see what I actually had and what I got. |

| That's not much of a change. Why did you do it? |

Did your car come stock with the T5? if so the stock gears are supposed to be 3.08s, if you swapped the T5 in and the car was originally equipped with a auto, the gears would be like 3.23 or even 2.73 but im not postive on the auto gear ratios. 3.42s only came stock on manual v6 rears. _________________ 1991 Firebird L03 T-5 |

I've been wanting 3.73's for myself but have honestly just settled on not doing anything gear wise until I do a rearend, and then I'll likely do 3.90's or 4.11's |

I did 3.08 to 3.23 and noticed a small increase in acceleration. It only offset the speedometer by 5%, so it wasn't a big change. _________________ 92 Camaro

Jake, I think you just need to focus on getting your car running the way it should before doing any modifications. BTW 3.42 did not only come stock on manual V6's. The '91 LB9/T5 cars got either 3.08's or 3.42's if it were ordered as a G92 optioned car. If I'm not mistaken his is a G92 thus 3.42's. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S
