So I decided to treat myself to a new radar detector after faithful, decent performance from a Cobra. What a change!
I decided to spend a medium amount of money after a large amount of research. The Beltronics Vector 940 is my new toy seen here:
For 180.00 dollars, which has of course already paid for itself in the 2 weeks I've owned it, this radar is exceptionally better than my cobra. Tim (302305eater) out did me and bought an Escort Passport for 300 dollars which is even sexier, and we both can't stop talking about how much smarter these radars are. (Beltronics and Escort are the same company)
Less false alerts, greater range against K and KA and an amazingly greater reaction to laser, the hardest method to outsmart. I drive 500 miles a week, between Port Townsend and Olympia, from the car lot to college. While I do not blatantly break the limit, there are many traps on highway 101, where small towns change the speed limit from 50 to 35 within a couple hundred feet. Also, it should be noted, the State Patrol Training Academy is stationed in Shelton, right on my way to school. My campus has a real police detachment and they like to roll our roads with K and KA all the time, which is always fun for me since my fellow classmates drive like idiots and I just cruise along behind them waiting for the cop to crest the hill.
Anyways, just thought I would share my new toy, since I have no new car to brag about ( still in the market, still waiting...) _________________

I think we all get the idea of what I'm talking about right?
I could understand if I stated that your V6 car had a flux machine, when it is in actuality, a flux capacitor. _________________

I don't have one yet, but I'm working on it
I hope you took the previous as pure sarcasm as it was meant to be |

been on the fence of whether or not to put the money down on a bel or just go all out and get the escort 9500i
but here in texas everyone is getting hit by lasers in pretty much any reasonably sized town or any well travelled road
so maybe http://www.escortradar.com/9500ci.htm is in order... |

If I was dedicated to racing when the movement arose, say while on a highway.....and money was no object, I would have that system in my dedicated toy.
Laser is usually, I say *usually* a dedicated rush hour/school zone thing in my daily driving areas, and I try to be as selective about my law breaking as possible. (as conflicted as that sounds, I do have a pulse and will at times destroy a civic or integra ) _________________

Oh, and case in point, my campus police were playing with their laser guns last night. I was, as always, being tail gated by a barely legal moron, who:
A. Failed to see the speed trap
B. Does not have a radar detector
C. Thinks that if they get close enough to hit me, they will make me see the error of my law obeying ways
D. Drive worse than street racers on a daily basis. Their excuse? Impatience.
I pulled over and let her by, and then got to laugh as she nearly locked up her brakes when she got within 5 feet of the cop. It was too late by then...MUAHAHAHAHAHA.
I waived at her as I went by, doing 25 in a GASP 25. _________________
