So i recently picked up a set of 16" iroc-z Rims off the side of the road for 100 bucks. They are Toyo Proxies FZ4's 225/50/16 in the front and 245/50/16's in the rear. I dont know if the tread depth in the fronts are ok because i dont really know how much these low profile tires usually have. But i know the rears are smoked. Looks like some one had fun and burnt the rears to nothing.

But now im looking at getting some new tires and i wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions? The tires are going on my daily driver (2.8MPFI) so no real abuse.

On my 79 T/a I ran 255 "road huggers" and they were alot of fun, on my 91 I have BFG radial T/a's. The BFGs get much better traction, but sometimes they flusterate me because they get too much traction in dry weather.

Road huggers = Less traction, more fun.

too much traction

What?!?! Shocked

I'm running mostly dead BFG Comp T/A's. No traction whatsoever. I'll trade you. Very Happy

You need to shift with flair.

I can start the burn in first and get into second, but I cant rev up to 5k and dump the clutch in second.

...Why would you start in second gear? Do that some more and you're going to destroy the trans or rearend. Those are glass in our cars.
