Umm.... I hope you have a new thermostat going in. Might clean the paint off the gasket surface of it too. Painted the distributor cap man!

Looks like you got it pretty clean. Should be nice and shiney when you topcoat it.

the cap was actually messed up from pulling it out of the old car, so I have a new one, and the thermostat was looking gunked up, going to use a new one of them to Smile

My mom helped me alot with cleaning it up, i wouldn't have been able to do it without her.

4 hours with a wire brush!!!!

yes sir! The electric fan will return later, but for now, this one has a really fancy clutch on it and all, so I will be using it for a while.

Ya, but this engine ran and worked well when I took it out, I dont want to try and change anything yet. The serp setup though, that thing has been doomed since I bought the car. V-belt is just easier.

its an 80-84 350 with either a 2 or a 4 bolt main, the casting number didn't tell me. It came out of a early third gen z28, along with some shorty headers, 3 inch y-ypipe, and a 3 1/2 inch cat back, no cat or muffler. Edlebrok performer intake, and a 600CFM carb.

right on, so it should go pretty good, is the 305 about crapped out?
you could easily find out 2 or 4 bolt main by poping off the oil pan

Well, the 305 has about 180k, and I am just not happy with its performance. The engine was a good deal, so I got it. My real hope is just to have my camaro as quick as my old 79 T/a. 220RWH and 320 foot pounds of torque (Thing did amazing burnouts).

Since I plan on getting a beater truck in march or so, (very low budget on that one) It may end up holding this 305 for a while. Im not sure yet.

Well, it could be better. Today is day three, and STILL the car wont let the 305 out. I dont know if my hoist is busted or what, but the bitch wont come out.

Today she is leaving the damn car. Once the old one is out, the new one shouldnt be hard to get in i wouldnt think.

hehe, good luck dude! as a rule of thumb take whatever time frame you think and double it, then multiply the price by 3 and you've got what it will really take Laughing
